Lamborghini makes Its NFT Debut With a Carbon Fiber “Space Key”

On February 1st, the auction of Lamborghini’s first five Space Time Memory NFTs went live. Interestingly, the NFTs come with a physical element called The Space Key.

Five carbon fibre squares with QR codes will link to the exclusive digital artwork.

‘The Space Key’ taking us to the moon with Lamborghini’s NFT project.

Lamborghini appears to have taken the phrase “to the moon” literally with its new space-themed artwork featuring the NFT project. To explain, the artwork is made of a high-tech carbon fibre composite material that Lamborghini sent to the International Space Station (ISS) for research in 2019. Now, this carbon fibre is part of the Space Key after returning from space and passing all relevant tests for the company’s research project. Notably, Space Key comes with a unique QR code, that links to the NFT. A total of five of these keys were made, totalling the same amount of NFTs that will be minted.

Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, explains, “As a leading company for carbon fibre composite materials within the automotive sector we pushed boundaries with the joint research project in space. Now entering the metaverse is again proof of Lamborghini always setting sail for new horizons. The NFT world has been calling to us. And we are excited about engaging with this very passionate and innovative community.”

Regarding Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborghini founded Lamborghini in 1963 as a luxury Italian car manufacturer. Since then, they’ve evolved into a global brand that is instantly recognizable around the world. Ferruccio founded Lamborghini Trattori, a tractor manufacturer, prior to the launch of Automobili Lamborghini. Stephan Winkelmann is the current CEO, and Audi owns the company. Aside from cars and tractors, the company has also produced motorcycles and marine engines.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, they also had an F1 team. Their time in the Championship, however, was brief, lasting only four years. They only had one podium finish during that time.

For young people who make a lot of money, their cars have become the ultimate flex.
