OpenSea accidentally delisted Cool Pets, allowing copycats to rip people off

Once again, OpenSea is in the news for not-so-good reasons. Basically, OpenSea accidentally delisted the original Cool Pets NFT collection instead of the fake one. As a result, some people exploited this mistake and were buying into the fake collection and were even gaining good profits from it.

Already, OpenSea is facing many challenges with technical glitches and many scams. Each day one collector or another loses ETH for the same reasons. So, another mistake like this is just making things worse for the marketplace. In fact, users are preferring Looks Rare marketplace.

Certainly, crypto Twitter was in a rage mode after they learned about the incident. Twitter user @brianhc wrote, “they are exceeding our expectations. It is possible for opensea to be worse than we ever imagined” simultaneously, @r_chungster said, “not even surprised what OS did at this point”.

Meanwhile, the Cool Pets project is yet to go live on other marketplaces. Now, the allow listing will be open at 2 pm EST and run for 24 hours. Whereas, the public minting will happen at 4 pm EST on Wednesday, while the game will open on Thursday.

Cool Pets is the newest addition to the highly successful Cool Cats NFT project. It’s a set of 19,999 NFTs that are generated procedurally based on item interaction. Every Pet begins as an egg and develops into its final form. Through Cool Pets’ gamified experience, NFT holders can influence their Pets’ evolution. Furthermore, if the user properly cares for their pet, the Pet may inherit a special element, such as Grass, Fire, Water, or Air.
